The Automatic Temperature Control uses a PID Control Algorithm and a Pilot Control to achieve the desired grill temperature. The standard Values should be a good starting point and work decently for most Grills.

The Control output of the BBQ Ctrl is calculated as Output = PC + KP * ΔT + ∫KI*ΔT + KD*ΔT/dt

PC - Pilot Control, set to the value of the BBQ Ctrl Output when the Temperature has settled to 120°C

KP - Proportional factor, will decrease response time, but can lead to instabilities.

KI - Integral Factor, will decrease long term offset. High values can lead to instabilities

KD - Differential factor. Looks at the trend of the Temperature and adjusts the output. Dampens oscilations, too high values can increase oscilations

Bangang Range - Range around the Target Temperature at which the output is set to 0 or 100% respectively

The Lid Detection monitors the Grill Temperature and stalls the Controller when an open Lid is detected.
As more air is entering the Grill when the Lid is open the controller output is reduced and brought back to the original level after the Lid Delay.
The Default setting is on.

If you are using different Temperature probes than the ones provided by BBQ Ctrl, you can adjust the charachteristics here. Wrong settings will lead to a false temperature readouts, so handle with care!
